Flexible and Portable
Sniff and decode wireless traffic with a box about the size of a paperback novel. Maximum mobility for rapid, robust, and cost-effective wireless development, testing and troubleshooting.
The Frontline X240 Wireless Protocol Analyzer captures information streaming between wireless devices and can do so utilizing various technologies including Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and 802.15.4. It is paired with the powerful Teledyne LeCroy Wireless Protocol Suite software to provide developers with a robust set of analysis tools including Bluetooth protocol analysis, Bluetooth audio analysis, and spectrum analysis.
The Frontline X240 makes it possible to capture and decode the wireless devices being developed or debugged in even the most challenging settings. It is compact, powerful, and built for mobility - weighing only 1.5 lbs! It can capture up to 16 logic channels and it can be powered by USB, enabling Excursion Mode for PC-free captures. It is great for use in the lab or test facility, but fantastic when you need to get mobile and take it with you in field or on the road.
With the Frontline X240, a new a la carte licensing model allows the user to create the right tool for every job. Equip the X240 with any single technology (Bluetooth BR/ EDR, Bluetooth LE, Bluetooth Dual-Mode, 802.11 a/b/g/n and ac, or 802.15.4) or any combination of those technologies for a tool that's no less than exactly what you need, and no more than you need to buy. CrossSync™ functionality allows you to connect multiple X240 units together to capture multiple technologies simultaneously, and facilitates antenna diversity.
Since wireless applications are ubiquitous, the need for mobility during testing is essential. The Frontline X240 was designed with this need in mind. Teledyne LeCroy has packed maximum capturing power in a package that's only a little bigger than a paperback novel. But portability is about more than just size. The Frontline X240 comes equipped with a car adapter for mobile automotive applications, and can be powered by USB when AC power is hard to come by. And when true mobility is called for, Excursion Mode will allow the user to capture everything in the air at the push of a button, without any PC attached.
The Frontline X240 Spectrum Analysis feature provides an RF heat map of the entire 2.4GHz ISM Band in Wireless Protocol Suite software. This enables the user to view time-synced captured wireless packets overlaid on top of the captured RF energy within the test environment. Signal strength (RSSI) is displayed when the user hovers over captured RF energy. With this data you can see how multiple technologies coexist in the Coexistence view.
The Spectrum Analysis feature and Coexistence view enables the user to identify RF interference and understand how their wireless devices operate effectively in the crowded 2.4GHz ISM band.
The integrated Bluetooth Audio Expert System is the first and only analysis tool on the market to combine audio analysis with Bluetooth protocol analysis. This unique capability allows developers to quickly pinpoint the root cause of a wide array of Bluetooth protocol-related audio problems in various applications, including the latest Bluetooth LE Audio and Bluetooth Auracast for broadcast audio.
Audio waveform plotting and playback are available directly within the software, providing an intuitive and efficient way to analyze audio data. Unique Audio Rating Metric feature enables developers to debug audio quality issues using reference audio files.
New: Audio Latency Measurement Accurately measure end-to-end audio latency across Bluetooth links, helping developers optimize performance for time-sensitive applications such as gaming, video streaming, and assistive listening devices.
The Audio Expert feature truly transforms a novice into an expert and makes an expert even more efficient in testing Bluetooth devices, such as hearing aids, car infotainment systems, speakers, and headsets.
Teledyne LeCroy’s Wireless Protocol Suite combines Frontline’s decades of protocol analysis experience and up-to-the moment spec support with a streamlined interface, bringing all analysis tools into a single dockable framework that can be customized to your own preferred way of working and evaluating information. When paired with Teledyne LeCroy’s uniquely portable and configurable family of wireless protocol analyzers, the Wireless Protocol Suite delivers a world class software experience to anyone working with technologies that utilize the 2.4GHz ISM band.

Bluetooth audio systems introduce latency through various stages—ADC, DSP, buffering, and wireless transmission. These delays can affect lip-sync, spatial audio, and real-time communication.
Teledyne LeCroy’s Audio Analyzer Pod, when used in conjunction with the Logic Analyzer Pod and the Frontline X240 or X500 and X500e platforms, delivers comprehensive audio latency analysis through the Wireless Protocol Analyzer software, which helps engineers:
Timing is crucial because the protocol relies on precisely scheduled events to maintain efficient and reliable wireless communication.
The Logic Analyzer Pod is a powerful accessory for debugging Bluetooth, Wi-Fi timing issues, especially in embedded systems or hardware-software integration scenarios by capturing logic signal and wired protocol, such as HCI UART, SPI and Audio I2S.
