Valve Diagnostic Equipment and Calculation Software Engines

Utilities operating nuclear power plants agree that the correct functioning of all safety-related power operated valves is paramount. Regulatory (NRC Generic Letters 89-10/96-05 and 10CFR50.55a) and Code (ASME OM Code, Appendix III/IV) requirements drive the need for utilities to perform baseline and periodic diagnostic testing to ensure these safety-related power operated valves are capable of performing their required design functions.

In addition, TLTS offers engineering services to support utilities in implementation activities related to their power operated valve programs. Typical support activities provided by TLTS personnel include, but are not limited to, design basis calculations, overthrust evaluations, diagnostic trace anomaly reviews, self-assessment support, Appendix III / IV program gap analyses, and custom program / test reports.

Sensors

Quick Stem Sensor (QSS)

A patented prefabricated strain sensor, commercially dedicated for nuclear application.
Applied to a valve stem or shaft to obtain a direct measurement of stem thrust and torque without disassembly of the valve.

SMARTSTEM

A patented installation of strain gages on a valve stem or shaft.
To obtain a calibrated and temperature-compensated measurement of stem thrust and torque.

Spring Pack Measurement Device Encoder Version (SPMDe)

A digital linear position sensor used to measure spring pack displacement to provide an indirect indicator of stem torque and thrust.

Motor Voltage Attenuator (MVA)

Used to measure Phase-to-Phase motor voltage on 3-phase AC inductive motors.

Digital Stem Position Encoder (SPe & SPe-HR)

Measures axial stem or rotary shaft travel on both MOV and AOV applications.

AC Current Probes

Used to measure AC current on MOVs.
Full-scale ranges from 1 to 1000 amps AC.

AC/DC Current Probes

Used to measure AC and DC current on MOVs.
Full-scale ranges from 0.5 to 600 amps DC.

A multi-channel current sensor solution for MOV online monitoring and diagnostic testing.

Pressure Sensors

Ruggedized, highly accurate sensors used to capture test pressures such as diaphragm, line and supply pressure as well as I/P output pressure.

Rotor Contact Indicator (RCI)

Provides signal indicating position (open or closed) of contacts on actuator rotor assembly.

Tools

Digital Radiography System (DRS)

Utilizes a portable X-Ray tubehead, detector, and imaging control software to provide a clear image of the valves internals.

Stem Angle Measurement Device (SAMD)

A device to measure stem angular motion during MOV diagnostic tests.

Spring Pack Calibration Stand (SPCS)

Connects to any QUIKLOOK system.
Includes everything needed to calibrate Limitorque spring packs.

Torque Switch Rotation Encoder (TSRE) and HBC Stem Position Encoder (HBC-SPE) Combo Kit

Allowing measurements of spring pack displacement when access to the spring pack is not available
Providing a repeatable mechanical connection to measure position.

Thread Removal Tool

Used for the in-situ removal of valve stem threads.
This allows for the installation of our QSS on a smooth stem area for direct, accurate measurement of stem torque and thrust.

Limit Switch Adjustment Tool (LSAT)

Designed to aid in the safe adjustment of the Limit Switch Assembly. This tool Reduces shorting and risk of damaging "L" bracket gaps.

Ultrasonic Test System (UTS)

A handheld device which provides reliable insight into the functionality of a check valve.
The device output, screen capture, and accelerometer data provide detailed check valve reports in QUIKLOOK-FS Pro.

I/P Booster Assembly

Allows the user to control a valve with large actuator areas using a standard external I/P resulting in consistent ramp times and profiles.

Emerson / Fisher AOV Travel Encoder and Bracket Kits

The AOV Bracket Kits are used to securely attach the travel transducer in order to accurately measure valve travel for a diagnostic test.

Calibration

QL3.5CAL / CALFSQL Calibration System

A software application for the calibration of the QUIKLOOK 3.5-FS, QL vida, and FSQL valve diagnostic systems.

TravelCAL Calibration System

A combination hardware and software system used to automate the testing and calibration of displacement sensors.
Designed for testing linear sensors, both digital and analog type.
Optional Rotary fixture allows for the testing of Rotary Encoder sensors.

Spring Pack Calibration System

Implemented as a QLReport compatible with the calibration stand and QUIKLOOK FS Pro software for the testing of SMB-000 to SMB-4 spring packs.

QL TEDS Editor System

A program to read/write data to Transducer Electronic Datasheet (TEDS) chips.
