Problem:

How do I set a static IP address on a Teledyne LeCroy oscilloscope with Windows 7?

Solution:

1. Connect the oscilloscope to a network.

2. Minimize the oscilloscope application by clicking File and selecting Minimize.

3. In Windows, access the control panel from the Windows Start menu and open the Network and Sharing Center.

4. Upon opening the Network and sharing Center, you should see a Local Area network connection.  Click Local Area Connection.

5. Click Properties.

6. Select Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCIP/IPv4) and click Properties.

7. Click the “Use the following IP address:” radio button and enter the static IP address. To ensure that you’ve entered a valid IP address, use the same IP address zone as you find on your PC.  For example, if the automatic IP address on your PC is 169.254.14.93, use 169.254.14.94 for the static address of the oscilloscope.  If you’re warned that the address is already in use, increment the last number. Enter the Subnet Mask 255.255.255.0. Click OK.

You may now connect to the IP address displayed on the oscilloscope.

8. Verify the connection with WaveStudio software. If your PC does not already have WaveStudio installed, click the link below to download the software and associated manual.
