Remote Control - LabVIEW – XStream DSO

Problem:

“Error 85 occurred at Scan From String” when running Labview VI

Solution:

Use the Initialize VI to open the connection or send CHDR OFF before any other commands after connecting to the scope.

The error is caused by a LabVIEW function that is scanning a string for a numeric value but encounters a non-numeric character. Removing the command header response will get rid of the offending characters and returns only the requested numeric value.

The Initialize.VI sends the CHDR OFF command as part of the initialization:
