Clock Tests
The LPDDR4/4X specifications follow DDR4 in separating clock jitter into random and deterministic components. Clock Tests measure and compare average clock period, absolute clock period, average high/low pulse width, absolute high/low pulse width, maximum period and cycle-cycle jitter, cumulative error over n periods, slew rate, differential and single ended input voltages, and overshoot/undershoot peak and area.
Eye Diagram Tests
Eye Diagram tests perform measurements on Data (DQ) and DQS (Strobe) eye diagrams of Read/Write bursts. Tests measure the horizontal and vertical margin between the JEDEC-specified Rx mask and eye diagram for Write bursts, and return measurements for Read bursts. Measurements are also performed between the Rx mask and Command Address signal.
Electrical Tests
The differential and single-ended slew rates defined by the JEDEC standards for LPDDR4/4X measure every rising and falling edge within a write burst. Electrical Tests perform slew rate measurements on every transition across all write bursts in a single acquisition to provide statistically accurate results in a short period of time. Other tests include CA/DQ/DQS signal over/undershoot peak and area, DQS differential and single ended input voltages, and read burst slew rate measurements.
Timing Tests
LPDDR4/4X Timing tests measure timing relationships between data, strobe, and clock signals during both read and write bursts. Preamble/postamble times and minimum pulse width are also tested.
QualiPHY 2
Automated DDR compliance testing enables faster test times by reducing inconsistencies, testing to the JEDEC standard and quick stopping for root-causing failures through the DDR Debug Toolkit.
